<image:title>Our Story - Our Story</image:title>
<image:caption>After many years of working in different environments our founder Shelley Ivory wanted to open a clinic, which looked at not just improving pain, but improving function. There is often a large belief in the community that we should only seek help when we are at crisis point. Very frequently there are warning signs prior to the body experiencing pain. If these concerns are addressed prior to crisis, often pain may be prevented, function may be improved, and ease of movement is facilitated. This may be by addressing a feeling of being ‘crooked’ or sports performance being hampered without an obvious cause or this may be addressing niggles or feelings of tension or vulnerability in your body. Whatever the change, be it small or large, addressing the problem sooner rather than later, can help to reduce both the severity and length of dysfunction or pain. At Body Technics we also believe in the connectivity of the body. How the body transfers load and holds tension may often impact different areas of the body. Meaning, the root of the problem isn’t always at the site of the pain. Sometimes when pain persists, despite frequent treatment and adherence to recommendations, it can be because the location rather than the cause of the pain is being addressed. We get check ups at the dentist and for our cars but we often aren’t as proactive with our own self-care. Here at Body Technics let us be the mechanics for your body and help address issues in the running of your most important vehicle.</image:caption>

<image:title>Musculoskeletal Injuries and Complaints - Musculoskeletal Injuries and Complaints</image:title>
<image:caption>It’s very common to experience pain that seems to come on gradually, without a clear cause. This can be frustrating and confusing. At Body Technics Physiotherapy, we take the time to understand your situation by combining a thorough history with a detailed physical assessment - helping to identify the underlying factors and provide clarity around your condition. In other cases, you may know exactly how your injury occurred, but feel unsure about how to manage it. Questions like Should I stretch or strengthen? Use ice or heat? Take anti-inflammatories or paracetamol? Do I need to see a surgeon? Is yoga or Pilates better? - can all feel overwhelming. That’s where we come in. Our role is to guide you with clear, evidence-based advice so you can make confident decisions about your recovery. We use a combination of hands-on treatment and active rehabilitation, including manual therapy, taping, dry needling, education, and personalised exercise programs. Every treatment plan is tailored to your individual needs, goals, and lifestyle - ensuring the most effective path to recovery.</image:caption>

<image:title>Pregnancy and Post Partum Related Pain - Pregnancy & Post Partum Pain</image:title>
<image:caption>Pelvic girdle and lower back pain are very common during pregnancy. As your body changes, increased weight and natural ligament laxity place greater demands on your muscles and joints. This added load can lead to discomfort and reduced mobility throughout the pregnancy journey. Targeted physiotherapy during this time can play an important role in preventing or minimising pain. Individualised exercise programs help support your body as it adapts, and research shows they may also reduce the duration and intensity of pain during labour. Hands-on treatment and tailored advice can further assist in managing discomfort and keeping you moving well. Following pregnancy, the postnatal period brings its own physical challenges. With the added demands of lifting, carrying, feeding, and caring for your baby - often combined with disrupted sleepit’s common to experience pain in the neck, shoulders, wrists, hips, and lower back. While self-care can be difficult during this busy time, addressing these issues early can make a significant difference to your comfort, recovery, and overall wellbeing. At Body Technics Physiotherapy, we provide personalised care to help you manage these physical demands and support your recovery after pregnancy. Our goal is to help you move comfortably, regain strength, and function with ease in your daily life. While we do not specifically treat pelvic floor conditions, improving core strength and control can assist with some related symptoms. When needed, we can also refer you to trusted specialists to ensure you receive the most appropriate care.</image:caption>

<image:title>Sports Injuries - Sports Injuries</image:title>
<image:caption>Sports injury management in physiotherapy involves the clinical assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries related to sport and physical activity. These injuries may present as acute trauma, such as ligament sprains, muscle strains, and joint injuries, or as chronic overuse conditions resulting from repetitive loading. We provide a comprehensive assessment to identify the injured structure and contributing impairments, including pain presentation, range of motion deficits, strength imbalances, neuromuscular control issues, kinetic chain dysfunction, training load errors, and previous injury history. This helps create an individualised rehabilitation plan around tissue healing principles and functional demands of their sport. Management typically progresses through phases of care, beginning with pain modulation and load management, followed by restoration of mobility, strength, and neuromuscular control. As recovery progresses, rehabilitation focuses on progressive loading and sport-specific functional retraining. We use objective outcome to guide progression and determine readiness for increased activity. Education is a big component, including guidance on activity modification, load monitoring, injury prevention strategies, and self-management techniques. Return-to-sport decision-making is based on functional testing, strength benchmarks, and movement quality rather than time alone. Where appropriate we collaborate with sports physicians, coaches, strength and conditioning staff, and other allied health professionals to ensure a safe and effective return to sport. The primary goals are to restore optimal function, reduce risk of re-injury, and support long-term athletic performance.</image:caption>

<image:caption>At Body Technics Physiotherapy, we design tailored exercise programs to suit every individual. No two bodies—or goals—are the same, which is why each program is carefully customised to your specific needs, lifestyle, and stage of life. Whether you’re aiming to prevent injury, prepare for surgery (prehabilitation), recover after surgery or injury, or manage physical changes during menopause, pregnancy, or the postnatal period, our exercise programs are designed to support you every step of the way. Using evidence-based exercise prescription, we help you build strength, improve mobility, and move with confidence. In addition to one-on-one programs, we also offer small group exercise classes that maintain the same level of individualisation. With limited class sizes, our physiotherapists can closely supervise your technique, tailor exercises to your needs, and safely progress your program over time. This allows you to enjoy the motivation and support of a group environment without compromising on personalised care. Whether you prefer individual sessions or a group setting, our goal is to help you achieve the best possible outcomes and return to doing what you love.</image:caption>

<image:title>Pelvic Pain - Pelvic Pain</image:title>
<image:caption>Pelvic pain can affect people of all ages and activity levels. Common presentations include pubic symphysis pain, sacroiliac joint (SIJ) pain, and pain around the lower back, hips, or groin. In many cases, pelvic pain is linked to altered load transfer through the pelvis. This may be due to reduced muscular control, strength imbalances, altered biomechanics, or a history of injury. When the surrounding muscles are not effectively supporting the pelvis, increased stress is placed on the joints and surrounding tissues, which can lead to pain and irritation. At Body Technics Physiotherapy, we focus on identifying the underlying cause rather than focusing solely on the area of pain, we look at the entire kinetic chain, muscle strength and joint control to understand the drivers of your symptoms. Treatment is then tailored to restore optimal function through targeted strengthening, movement retraining, manual therapy when appropriate, and individualised exercise programs. This approach aims to improve load management across the pelvis, reduce pain, and support long-term recovery. Our goal is to help you move better, feel stronger, and return to your normal activities with confidence.</image:caption>

<image:title>Thoracic and Rib Related Pain - Thoracic & Rib Related Pain</image:title>
<image:caption>The thoracic spine is often a poorly understood and under-treated source of pain in the body. It forms the middle section of the spine and is uniquely designed as the anchor point for the rib cage. This connection provides stability and protection for vital organs, but it also means this region is less mobile than the neck and lower back, which can make dysfunction harder to identify. Because of its structure, pain arising from the thoracic spine is frequently misinterpreted and attributed to other areas such as the lower back, shoulder blade region, or lower neck. This can delay appropriate treatment, as the true source of the problem may not be immediately obvious. Each thoracic vertebra connects to a rib, and these ribs wrap around the chest to attach to the sternum (breastbone) at the front. This creates a continuous ring of support around the rib cage. As a result, irritation or stiffness in the joints, muscles, or surrounding soft tissues can produce pain in multiple locations. Symptoms may be felt directly in the mid-back, may wrap around the ribs like a band, or may present as discomfort in the front of the chest. In some cases, the pain may shift between these areas or vary depending on posture, breathing, or movement. The thoracic spine also plays a key role in breathing mechanics and upper body rotation. When movement in this region becomes restricted, other areas such as the neck or lower back may compensate, leading to additional strain and contributing to persistent or recurring symptoms. Muscle tension, prolonged sitting, repetitive movements, and postural habits can all influence how this region functions and how pain is experienced. At Body Technics Physiotherapy we focus on identifying the underlying contributors to thoracic spine pain, including joint stiffness, muscular imbalance, and movement patterns. By addressing these factors directly, the aim is to reduce symptoms, improve mobility, and restore more efficient and comfortable movement.</image:caption>

<image:title>TMJ (The Jaw) - TMJ (The Jaw)</image:title>
<image:caption>The temporomandibular joint, or jaw joint, works closely with the upper neck and plays an important role in speaking, chewing, and overall facial function. Because of this close relationship with the surrounding muscles and cervical spine, dysfunction in this area can contribute to a range of symptoms beyond the jaw itself. TMJ-related issues can present as headaches, ear pain, facial discomfort, jaw clicking or tightness, and even neck pain. In many cases, these symptoms overlap, which can make the underlying cause difficult to identify without a thorough assessment. This region is best approached in a multi-factorial way, as symptoms are often influenced by a combination of joint mechanics, muscle tension, posture, stress, and daily habits such as clenching or grinding. For this reason, management may involve collaboration between your dentist, physiotherapist, and in some cases a psychologist, to ensure all contributing factors are addressed. Simple changes to habits, along with treatment aimed at reducing muscle tension and improving jaw and neck function, can make a significant difference to symptoms and overall comfort. For more information or to gain clarity on what's contributing to your symptoms, speak to a member of your team.</image:caption>

<image:title>Core Stability Retraining - Core Stability ReTraining</image:title>
<image:caption>Core stability refers to your body’s ability to control and support the spine and pelvis during movement. It involves a coordinated system of muscles, including the deep abdominal muscles, back muscles, diaphragm, and pelvic floor, all working together to keep your body stable and efficient. A strong and well-functioning core provides a solid foundation for almost every movement you perform, whether it’s walking, lifting, running, or playing sport. When your core is stable, forces are transferred more effectively through your body, reducing unnecessary strain on joints and muscles. A common contributor to changes in your core stability is lower back pain or pelvic pain. This can lead to a reduction in balance, decreased performance, and a higher risk of injury. At Body Technics Physiotherapy, we focus on improving core stability through targeted, evidence-based exercises tailored to your individual needs. This may include retraining deep stabilising muscles, improving posture and movement patterns, and progressing strength and control over time. Whether your goal is to recover from injury, prevent future problems, or enhance your performance, improving your core stability is a key step toward moving better and feeling stronger in everyday life.</image:caption>

<image:caption>For many people, the idea of surgery can feel overwhelming. At Body Technics Physiotherapy, we believe in empowering you with the knowledge and support to make informed decisions about your care. By seeing a physiotherapist early, we can assess your condition, guide you on whether surgery is appropriate, and develop a personalised plan focused on conservative management wherever possible. In many cases, surgery can be delayed - or even avoided - through targeted physiotherapy. By reducing pain, improving mobility, and building strength, we help you stay active and in control of your condition. Strong clinical evidence shows that certain conditions can be effectively managed for months or even years without surgery. When surgery is necessary, pre-operative rehabilitation (“prehab”) plays a vital role in improving outcomes, reducing complications, and speeding up recovery. Following surgery, structured rehabilitation is essential to achieving the best possible results. Our physiotherapists will guide you through every stage of recovery - helping restore movement, rebuild strength, and minimise pain - so you can safely return to work, daily activities, and sport. Whether you’re preparing for surgery or recovering from it, our experienced team will tailor your rehabilitation to your individual needs, ensuring you receive the highest standard of care every step of the way.</image:caption>
