Our Story

After many years of working in different environments our founder Shelley Ivory wanted to open a clinic, which looked at not just improving pain, but improving function.

There is often a large belief in the community that we should only seek help when we are at crisis point. Very frequently there are warning signs prior to the body experiencing pain. If these concerns are addressed prior to crisis, often pain may be prevented, function may be improved, and ease of movement is facilitated. This may be by addressing a feeling of being ‘crooked’ or sports performance being hampered without an obvious cause or this may be addressing niggles or feelings of tension or vulnerability in your body. Whatever the change, be it small or large, addressing the problem sooner rather than later, can help to reduce both the severity and length of dysfunction or pain.

At Body Technics we also believe in the connectivity of the body. How the body transfers load and holds tension may often impact different areas of the body. Meaning, the root of the problem isn’t always at the site of the pain. Sometimes when pain persists, despite frequent treatment and adherence to recommendations, it can be because the location rather than the cause of the pain is being addressed.

We get check ups at the dentist and for our cars but we often aren’t as proactive with our own self-care. Here at Body Technics let us be the mechanics for your body and help address issues in the running of your most important vehicle.
